  • "There are decades where nothing happens; and there are weeks when decades happen."

  • In recent months, several decades' worth of disruption and, frankly, obliteration has come to the printing industry as well as other industries. Indeed, it’s hard to overstate the impact of coronavirus on the sector.

  • Many printing companies were operating under commercial models that simply cannot withstand 21st Century reality and most are unable to implement Digital Transformation to their existing business models.

  • Much of what was going to happen in any case will now happen very quickly: printing history is suddenly accelerated. The shift from print to digital will be radically sped up, as the Coronavirus crisis has driven a "digitalization" of human interaction.

  • Before the Corona virus, every business was focused on DIGITIZATION and now it will also have to focus on the HEALTH aspect. At ShareEcard we combine both needs.

  • Public figures such as Anthony Fauci, head of the USA’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Fauci, a key figure in the US response to the Corona virus, had this to say in April 2020 to the Wall Street Journal: “I don’t think we should ever shake hands ever again, to be honest with you.”

  • But in the midst of a global public health crisis in which hundreds of millions are avoiding physical contact to stop the spread of Covid-19, examining the need for something as ingrained as Paper Business Cards suddenly doesn’t seem quite so outlandish.

  • When you swap paper business cards, you are sharing a piece of paper which is potentially infected and therefore dangerous. It is an “outmoded custom and it has no place in a culture that believes in germ theory,” the idea that certain diseases are caused by microorganisms invading the body.

  • Most people will need to keep up some form of social distancing until a Corona virus Vaccine becomes available. So that means swapping paper business cards is no longer an option for the foreseeable future. Digital Cards are the way forward.

  • Would you take a paper business card from someone you just met?
